My Episcia Ronnieย (aka Flame Violet)ย is growing very well. It has grown many stolons, with some of them getting pretty long, and starting to tie up with one another.ย To prevent my Episica Ronnie from growing into a tangled mess of stolons, ย I knew I better change the container and repot the plant as soon as possible.
A hanging basket would be nice for trailing plants like Episcia, but I couldn’t find a suitable place in my house where I could hang the plant ๐ย While I was puzzling over the new container problem for my Episcia, I saw a cool bike/trolley looking raised planter when I was shopping one day. Yes! This could solve my problem I thought, and so I bought it right away.
This is what I got for my Episica. I guess it can keep the stolons hanging nicely for another year at least ๐
Love the planter. I’m not familiar with the Flame Violet, does it bloom?
This is indeed a piece of nature art. I always like to see your creative ideas of table and container gardening. Done all your Christmas shopping?
Louise: Yes, Flame Violet blooms almost all year round in where I live (Hong Kong), and with bright, colorful flowers too ๐
Autumn Belle: Thanks! Yes, this year I will give them something different for Christmas – give donations to charities in their name. Thanks Sue of The Balcony Garden for this great idea!
So cute your Flame Violet riding on the bike ๐ I just got several stolons/varieties and now in pots to be rooted. I hope the plant will look as nice as yours!
