One of my highlights in gardening last month is my discovery of Blotanical. I like it. It’s fun. This social networking site for gardeners makes it much easier for me to meet other gardening bloggers with similar interests and experience.
Blotanical has a tight and friendly community where its members will send messages to newcomers and make them feel welcomed. And there are several neat functions in Blotanical that make surfing this social networking site a fun and helpful experience. For examples, a blotanist can fave a post/blog and make it her favorite. And when a blogtanist has come to a post of another blogger that she likes, she can pick the post and show her support and appreciation.
Yet, what I like the most and think is the coolest in Blotanical is its map that displays and locates all the bloggers across the globe. With the power of Google Maps technology, users can have a clear picture of the overall distribution of gardening bloggers around the world, while can search for a gardening blog that actually locates around the corner by virtually roaming the globe.
Apparently, I am the only blotanist from Hong Kong, in fact, the only one from China.
While some users find Blotanical quite additive, people can interact at whatever level and time commitment they choose without having to feel like they are missing out. And this is one of the things I especially like about the site.
I am a new member also and I am so glad to have found Blotanical. Where else could one find so many devotees of gardening and in so many places. Drop by my plot and say hi!
This is a wonderful post, Sandy! I like how you’ve described Blotanical…surely you deserve a red star;-) I didn’t know you are the only person from China who has joined Blotanical. You will surely have to spread the word! Jan
Thanks Jan. Yes, I definitely will tell other gardeners in Hong Kong about Blotanical. Only that many of them only visit Chinese sites 🙂
